Coupled with a single-use system, the drive unit senses the bag impeller, which magnetically drives the impeller to rotate to create an effective mixing effect within a closed mixing system. The coupling of the impeller and drive motor does not require dynamic seals or shafts to penetrate the interior of the disposable system. The drive motor is enclosed on a portable cart and can be easily disconnected from a single-use system and reconnected to another system, allowing mixing in multiple single-use hybrid systems of different sizes using a single drive unit.
